Over the course of Michael Jordan’s illustrious basketball career, His Airness appeared in multiple charity and exhibition games, both at home and abroad. In celebration of MJ’s performances overseas, Jordan Brand announced an “International Flight” Pack consisting of three specially designed Air Jordans inspired by those friendly games that Jordan starred years ago.
The collection kicked off at the end of June with an Air Jordan 3 commemorating Magic Johnson’s 1998 Midsummer Night’s Magic Charity Game, and will continue this weekend with a brand new Air Jordan 5.
The “International Flight” Air Jordan 5s are built on a cream, blue and orange colorway, reminiscent of the uniform MJ wore in an exhibition game in Barcelona in 1990. The 12s represent Jordan’s trip to Tokyo in 1996, where he hosted a basketball clinic and participated in a friendly showcase with other NBA superstars.
The kicks are officially slated to release, in sizes for the whole fam, on Saturday, August 25th for the retail price of $190. Major retailers like Foot Locker and Footaction will have the 5s in stock, as will Nike.com and several other sneaker shops and boutiques.
