Mass Appeal has grown a lot since it’s relaunch in 2013. After reviving the print part of the company, they’ve launched a record label with a roster that includes Run The Jewels, Dave East, Nas and Bishop Nehru, to name a few. They’ve also expanded into a creative agency, worked in film, TV and digital video and more. Today, Mass Appeal reveals that they’ve landed a brand new global distribution deal with Universal Music Group.
Mass Appeal and Universal Music Group announce that they’ve entered a multi-year global agreement for their new distribution deal. UMG will now be working with Mass Appeal in the distribution of recorded music and short-form video content. Mass Appeal will be able to use UMG’s marketing and promotional teams in over 60 territories for some of their artists and their projects.
Nas’ upcoming album will be released with Mass Appeal and UMG’s new deal in collaboration with Def Jam Recordings.
“I’ve been blessed to work with two of the best brands in music. Columbia Records was how I got my start and Def Jam was where I continued that journey. In my next chapter, I am proud to say that I am signing myself to myself. I look forward to releasing many projects in the very near future with Mass Appeal’s new global partnership with UMG.” Nas said in a statement.
It looks like with this new deal, we’ll be getting more dope content from Mass Appeal. They’re responsible for helping Google launch their first hip hop doodle ever.
