2K Sports hosted a special NBA 2K19 launch party last night in Brooklyn, which included appearances from several NBA All-Stars and a surprise performance by Travis Scott. Of course, 2K Sports also revealed new details of the much anticipated video game, such as the player ratings for each team’s starting five.
Squads like the defending champion Golden State Warriors and the Eastern Conference favorite Boston Celtics don’t have a player in their starting lineup ranked below 80. On the other hand, the Sacramento Kings and Atlanta Hawks don’t have a player ranked above a 79.
NBA 2K19 cover star, Giannis Antetokounmpo, checks in at a 94 overall, while LeBron James, the cover athlete of the 2K19 20th Anniversary Edition, boasts a game-high 98 overall rating. All three Rookie of the Year finalists from the 2018 season will start with the same player rating in NBA 2K19, as 2K Sports has revealed that Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum, Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell, and the reigning Rookie of the Year Ben Simmons are all 87 overall.
The NBA 2K19 Standard Edition will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 system, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC platforms on September 11th. Purchasing the 20th Anniversary Edition of NBA 2K19 ($99.99) will give you early access to the game on September 7th in both digital and physical on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and digitally on Windows PC. The free Prelude demo will be available this Friday on PS4 and Xbox One.
