Live music virtual concert space Stadio returns tonight (June 18) at 8 p.m. PT with an exclusive mixed reality performance from dubstep producer and Los Angeles native 12th Planet.
Launched last month with a performance from JSTJR, Stadio uses cutting edge technology to take attendees inside a virtual concert experience. Relying on the cinematic capabilities of video game engineers and narrative storylines, Stadio uses live spatial tracking cameras and crowd dynamic technology to create a real time concert experience.
Fans can activate stage effects and become a part of the show in real-time with chats, polls, merchandising and artist interaction. The performance is broadcast in front of a series of green screens and includes full front of house touring consoles with customizable lighting, visuals and stage designs.
12th Planet manager Danny Johnson and creative director Drew Best collaborated with Stadio to replicate the LA performer’s existing stage and put some of the tour crew back in action. Earlier this year, 12th Planet closed out the EDC Virtual Rave-A-Thon, playing to over a million viewers in a closing performance produced by Stadio.
Stadio was built by veteran live professionals Juan Santillan, Gopi Sangha and Drew Best. Watch tonight at 8 p.m. at stadio.live as well as Facebook, Instagram, Twitch and YouTube.
