Lil Mosey captures his first Billboard No. 1 as “Blueberry Faygo” climbs from No. 3 to top the Rhythmic Songs airplay chart (dated June 20). The single rises through a 7% bump in plays at the format in the week ending June 14, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.
“I feel blessed to have my first No. 1,” the 18-year-old rapper tells Billboard via email. “This is just the beginning. More Certified Hits on the way. Love to all my supporters.”
In addition to its Rhythmic stronghold, “Faygo” has made inroads on the adjacent R&B/hip-hop and pop formats. For the former, the single reaches a new peak of No. 16 on the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop airplay chart, which ranks songs by plays on monitored stations, thanks to a 3% boost in plays in the week ending June 14. The increased play count helps the song rise 22-21 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart, where it picks up a 2% weekly improvement to 7.5 million in audience reach.
On Rap Airplay, the track slides 5-6 despite a 6% lift in audience.
Pop radio has also latched on to the building hit. “Faygo” ranks at No. 22 on the latest Pop Songs airplay chart, where it scores a strong 33% weekly gain in plays.
Growth across the multiple airplay divisions push Mosey’s hit 25-20 on the all-genre Radio Songs chart, where it registers 28.5 million in total audience, up 14% from the previous week.
“Faygo” appears on the deluxe reissue of Mosey’s Certified Hitmaker album. The original set debuted at No. 9 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart last November for the first of its three-week run. After “Faygo” and other cuts were added to the set, Hitmaker re-entered the list in March and has remained on the chart since, a still-active stretch of 16 weeks.
