50 Cent Developing Hip-Hop Competition Series ‘Unrapped’ for ABC

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is expanding his television empire.

The rap mogul is developing a hip-hop competition series called “Unrapped” for ABC where celebrity contestants will go head-to-head with help from iconic hip-hop mentors, ultimately crowning a winner. Casting is currently underway.

According to Deadline, 50’s G-Unit Film & Television is producing with SFO Entertainment and Jackson will executive produce with Antonio Collier, Jon Sheinberg, Susie Ursitti Sheinberg, Gwen Osborne, and Matt Feige.

50’s drama “For Life” was canceled by ABC after two seasons but it is currently available on IMDb TV.

“I am excited to expand my relationship with ABC,” Jackson said in a statement. “‘Unrapped’ brings G-Unit Film and Television’s ability to put incredible music and musical talent on screen to the competition space.”

In addition to his “Power” franchise, 50 has “Black Mafia Family” on Starz and is developing “Let Me Hear a Rhyme” for Peacock and the true crime anthology series “Confessions of a Crime Queen” for Discovery+.
