6ix9ine Reveals Why He Hasn’t Helped His Homeless Father

6ix9ine is opening up about his estranged relationship with his father.

The rapper’s biological dad, Daniel Hernandez, revealed in a recent interview that he’s been in a homeless shelter for the past two years and that his famous son has not offered him any financial support.

“You think he’d come hook me up with something,” the 60-year-old told Page Six. “He’s been giving money to other people. … He gives money to everybody. ‘Here, here, here.’”

After the story made headlines, Tekashi responded to the claims by calling out his deadbeat dad for abandoning him at a young age and explaining why he has not offered him money.

“Everybody knows that my biological father abandoned me at birth,” he told DJ Akademiks. “Right now he’s in a shelter smoking crack. The story of me not giving money to a crackhead who abandoned me at birth is getting more publicity than positive things.”

Added Tekashi, “It’s like a trend to hate me.”

Tekashi’s father showed up at his son’s trial in December 2019 and tried to speak with the judge in order to reduce his sentencing. “So I could be free and give him money?” responded Tekashi when the topic was brought up. “The narrative will always be, let’s make Tekashi 6ix9ine look like the worst human being in the world.”

Tekashi did not meet his dad until he was 9. His mother reportedly kicked the father out of their house after she allegedly caught him using drugs.

In a tearful interview last year, Hernandez pleaded for a reunion with the rainbow-haired rapper. “I want you to know that I love you and I miss you,” he told 6ix9ine. “Please give me a second chance. I’ll do anything.”
