Sharon Osbourne made a bizarre confession during an appearance on the BBC game show Would I Lie to You? last week: She once fired one of husband Ozzy Osbourne's assistants after sending him into a burning building.
Apparently, the fiery incident occurred one Christmas night when the rocker couple lit a candle before going to bed. When a fire alarm started going off, Osbourne explained that she sent her husband down to investigate, which escalated into Ozzy's arm and hair catching on fire. Eventually, the former talk-show host managed to push her husband outside and douse the fire in an outdoor fountain, all while the assistant slept.
"So I go into the guest house, and he's going, 'Everything all right?'" Osbourne recalled. "And I'm like, "No! House is on fire! Get out! Help! Go in, get the paintings out!"
After rescuing the couple's dogs from the house, the unnamed assistant was given an oxygen mask by emergency medical personnel who finally arrived on the scene — something Osbourne apparently didn't take too kindly to. "So then I said to him, 'How very dare you! You work here and you get more paintings out right now,'" she recounted. "And I took the mask and I put it on my dog."
To add insult to injury, Osbourne fired the assistant a few days later when she and Ozzy were reliving the wild event. "We were laughing and laughing, and he goes, 'I don't see what's funny about any of this.' And he said, 'I think I'm gonna have damaged lungs,' and I mean, please," she said with an eye roll. "Then I said, 'If you don't think that's funny, do you think this is funny?' And he goes, 'What?' I said, 'You're fired.'"
