Ovy On The Drums Recreates ’50 First Dates’ in ‘Sigo Buscandote’ Video With Mau & Ricky: Exclusive

Ovy on the Drums (real name: Daniel Oviedo) presents his latest single and music video called “Sigo Buscandote,” premiering exclusively on Billboard today (Jan. 30).

The Colombian-born producer, composer and now, singer, has recruited the Venezuelan/Argentine duo and brothers Mau & Ricky to drop a reggaeton-meets-pop melody fused with catchy acoustic guitars.

The lyrics in “Sigo Buscandote,” which translates to “I’m still searching for you,” entails just that: a person who continues to fight for the love of his or her life. “Where are you / I’m still searching for you / I’m never going to forget you.” At one point, Ovy even drops a liner from Shakira’s timeless track “¿Donde Estás Corazón?”

The music video, besides showing the artist’s playful side and chemistry, recreates scenes from the 2004 romantic comedy 50 First Dates starring Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler. It portrays a girl who has short-term memory and Ovy is on the mission of making her fall in love every day as he deals with the competition of other men trying to win her heart.

“You can lose your memory, but not your feelings,” reads a message at the end of the clip.

At 29 years old, Ovy has positioned himself as a top Latin producer and composer, being the mastermind behind some of Paulo Londra, Piso 21, Mike Bahia, and Karol G’s biggest hits, including “Tusa” in collaboration with Nicki Minaj, which is at No. 1 on the Hot Latin Songs chart (dated Feb. 1).

With “Sigo Buscandote,” Ovy on the Drums continues to mark his territory as a singer. Watch the video premiere below.
