Progressive rock outfit Coheed and Cambria are returning to the road this year for their Neverender NWFT Tour. They will perform every song from their fourth studio album, Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume II: No World for Tomorrow, which peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 back in 2005, as part of their Nevender tour series.
Fellow prog rockers Chon will be the special guest accompanying Coheed and Cambria on each date of the 41-date jaunt.
"Neverender is a special chance for us to celebrate the milestones that have made us Coheed and Cambria," said lead singer/guitarist Claudio Sanchez in a statement. "And while the title of this chapter may suggest the end, I would like to think this and past Neverenders will help inform how we approach this ritual in the future."
In 2008, Coheed and Cambria hosted the first-ever Neverender, a four-night stint in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and London, where the members performed the entirety of their first four albums, one album each evening. This ended up spurring a handful of Neverender tours, breathing new life into their oldest records for intimate venues across the country. Considering No World for Tomorrow is their fourth album, this tour seems to mark the end of the historic tour series, 12 years after its inception.
Back in October, the band postponed the rest of their scheduled tour in support of their ninth album Vaxis – Act I: The Unheavenly Creatures after drummer Josh Eppard's onstage fainting spell at a show led to a cardiac ablation procedure, which was designed to help Eppard's irregular heartbeat that was believed to be the cause of his accident.
Now, the four bandmates are back and better than ever to kick off a new tour, starting at Austin's ACL Live at the Moody Theater on May 5 and going around the Midwest and West Coast throughout the month before wrapping the first leg May 31 at Las Vegas' Brooklyn Bowl. The second leg will pick back up Aug. 30 at the Royal Oak Theatre in Michigan and travel up and down the East Coast and the South before landing at St. Petersburg's Jannus Live on Oct. 3 for the final stop.
Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. local time, and a special fan pre-sale gives concertgoers a leg up Wednesday at 10 a.m. local time, which both can be found here.
