Magic Giant Chase Down a Purse Snatcher in ‘Disaster Party’ Video, Announce Tour Dates: Exclusive

Alt rockers Magic Giant premiered the video for "Disaster Party" and announced new tour dates on Wednesday (Feb. 5), exclusively  Billboard.

In the cheeky visual, the bandmates attempt to save the day after witnessing a woman get mugged on the street. Taking off in pursuit of the thief, the trio's valiant stab at retrieving the young mother's purse goes hilariously awry thanks to an angry, mop-wielding bodega owner, the cops, and their own hapless antics.

"It's a disaster party/ Runnin' through hell, might as well/ Throw away all your money/ They say it's our fate, and it's too late/ I know, I know that we're all pretending/ This night is never-ending/ And if you need somebody/ It's a disaster party," frontman Austin Bisnow sings on the track's chanting, shout-along chorus.

"Being in a dream state can be fun," Bisnow tells Billboard, "Even if you’re only there because you got knocked over the head with a glass bottle by an angry store clerk who mistook you for a thief! Things don’t always go according to plan, and sometimes you have to roll with the punches… literally."

The band also announced a group of headline tour dates for spring 2020, with VIP presale starting now.

"Disaster Party" is the band's second single of 2019, following "Rocketman," their collaboration with fellow indie rockers American Authors. Magic Giant is currently at work on their as-yet-untitled sophomore album, which was preceded by 2017's In The Wind.
