Migos' Acting History

The grind never stops for the Migos. In addition to their superstar music careers, the ATL trio is always searching for new endeavors to diversify their entertainment portfolio. Earlier this week (Feb. 27), it was announced that Offset would be diving back into the acting world with a cameo on an upcoming episode of NCIS: Los Angeles.

“I never wanted to come into acting and be like put in this category of, ‘Oh, you be the bad guy all the time,” Offset said in a teaser for Sunday’s (March 1) episode. “I wanted to be able to show that I can do anything that someone sets in front of me.”

‘Set’s solo Hollywood debut is just the latest example of the Migos bringing their talents to the small screen. Take a look at a history of the roles the Migos have take on throughout their careers below.

Quavo – Narcos: Mexico (2020)

As noted Narcos superfans — the trio released the drug-dealing anthem “Narcos” in 2018 — it was only right the Netflix dealer drama cast Quavo in season two of Narcos: Mexico. Huncho plays a super-chill L.A. drug dealer looking to introduce crack cocaine to the powerful families of Tijuana by flying down South to put on a dope cooking demo. He may sell drugs, but the character under his rap alias doesn’t get high off his own supply. Quavo’s cameo comes in the second episode of the show’s sophomore season, which dropped on Feb. 13.

Offset – NCIS: Los Angeles (2020)

Expanding on the previously mentioned appearance on NCIS, Offset will also be premiering a brand new solo track titled “Danger” during Sunday’s episode. ‘Set’s character is an undercover CIA agent who goes by the alias of Kadri Kashan Khan and who’s hesitant to blow the cover he’s spent years building up. “My own fans are so excited to see me do something different,” he explained of the role. “To be honest, it’s one of my top experiences.”

Quavo – Black-ish (2019)

Quavo popped up in the season five finale of the ABC sitcom in 2019. Playing himself, Huncho hears a pitch from star Anthony Anderson and a few of his co-workers about a business idea called Boxable, an off-brand UPS. The Migos rapper isn’t feeling the pitch and lets the boys down easy. “It seem like a poor fit. I was hoping to hear more of a social media angle,” he tells them gently. “I love details. That’s why I handle the Migos marketing business.”

Quavo – Star (2018)

Even though the Fox drama series got canceled after three seasons, Quavo still managed to squeeze in an appearance late in season two. Huncho is recruited to join the Midtown Sound record label, which causes drama with other artists on the roster. LaLa Anthony also stars in the same 2018 episode as Quavo.

Migos – Atlanta (2016)

Before thanking the Migos for making “Bad & Boujee” at the 2017 Golden Globes, Donald Glover enlisted the trio to all make an appearance in season one of his critically-acclaimed FX series. Paper Boi (Brian Tyree Henry) and Darius (LaKeith Stanfield) meet up with the pretentious ATL threesome, who are leaders of the local drug cartel, to make a deal in an RV that goes awry. Fans are anxiously awaiting about season three’s arrival.
