The summer season is inching closer, which brings on sweltering heat and ignites lust and romance. Talii — a rising pop singer from Orlando, Fla. — has just the anthem to soundtrack those passionate nights.
“Good to Be Bad,” which premieres exclusively on Billboard below, finds the singer tapping into her inner-vixen as she charms her love interest with naughty lyrics. “It’s written in your eyes, it’s all I see/ Come and taste the fire exploding in me/ Let me be your darkest fantasy/ Know you want it like that,” she coos atop a dancehall-flecked, bass-heavy production that reflects her Trinidadian roots.
“Being ‘bad’ doesn’t necessarily mean you’re up to no good; it also relates to that feeling of strong, sexy confidence us women love,” Talii tells Billboard. “We all have hidden desires, fantasies, or kinks that we fear others may not accept about us and this song is the act of diving into that part of you and welcoming it without guilt.”
She continues: “The song also embodies the mystical wisdom, divine connection, and unhindered sexuality that female figures throughout history have been characterized with, yet modern society has largely stifled this raw form of feminine energy. All of us, especially women, are capable of tapping into that energy and I hope this song empowers people to do that.”
“Good to Be Bad” follows previous singles “Front Seat” and the “Thickness” remix, featuring John Concepcion. Talii is currently prepping the release of her soon-to-be-announced debut EP.
