Dylan Fuentes is the latest artist to get signed by the NEON16/Interscope Records talent incubator, launched by Latin Grammy-winning producer Tainy and renowned music executive Lex Borrero, Billboard can exclusively reveal.
With the official announcement made Monday (March 9), Fuentes, a rising talent from Colombia who’s also an actor and songwriter, will continue to evolve as an artist and usher in a new sound for the Latin music genre.
“The world has a lot of talent, but very few artists. Even fewer artists who can be creative in both music and film,” said Borrero in an official statement. “Dylan is one of those few, I’m a fan and knew we had to sign him from the moment I met him.”
Some of the 23-year-old’s popular tracks include “Uber Sex” with the late Colombian star Legarda and “Ajena,” his 2019 collaboration with Myke Towers, which music video counts with over 24 million views. He also forms part of “Tu Amiga,” the focus track of Tainy’s upcoming EP The Kids That Grew Up on Reggaeton: Neon Tapes, alongside J Quiles, Lennox, and Llane. In addition to his music career, he portrays Johnny Ki in the Netflix series Siempre Bruja (Always A Witch).
As one of the first artists signed under the NEON16 banner, Fuentes is set to release his debut single “Bipolar” late this month, which also marks his first single from his upcoming album. In 2020, NEON16 will be working closely with Fuentes to create music that will resonate with audiences globally.
