Florida Georgia Line is paying it forward amid the global coronavirus outbreak. On Wednesday (March 18), the country duo announced that they’ll be paying the employees of their Nashville-based restaurant while it’s temporarily closed.
The bandmates committed Instagram to giving each of their 117 employees $1,000, writing, “@fglhouse would be nothing without our amazing staff. We know it takes a village, and we’re so thankful for all 117 of you and we hope this helps out while the bar and restaurant is closed.”
“We really hope this helps out in a time of need; we very, very vividly remember what it’s like to be in the service industry — to be a server, to be a bartender — and to rely on tips to pay the bills,” Tyler Hubbard added in a message to the restaurant workers in the video. “So we know everybody’s probably a little stressed out during this time, so we really hope that we can help you guys out.”
Florida Georgia Line also gave a shout-out in the clip to fellow country star Dierks Bentley, whose decision to give each employee at his franchise of Whiskey Row bars $1,000 inspired the duo to do the same.
