The Boss, Bon Jovi, and other NJ celebrities announce the formation of the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund.
The Boss never met a crisis he didn’t have words for.
In a video supporting the launch of New Jersey’s Pandemic Relief Fund, Bruce Springsteen offered hope for those suffering from COVID-19 and pointed his fellow New Jerseyans towards a new way they can lend a hand.
“These are uncertain times,” Springsteen said. “What is for certain is the pain, the fear, and the real needs of many of our neighbors, our friends, and certainly all of those who are on the front lines of this pandemic.” Later on, he confirmed he and his family have been doing their part to stop the spread of the virus: “We are practicing social distancing; we are staying at home.”
The video includes a bunch of other Jersey celebrities, including its other ubiquitous arena rocker, Jon Bon Jovi. There’s also Danny DeVito, who confirms he’s been staying inside and listening to a lot of Springsteen and Bon Jovi.
Also appearing are Whoopi Goldberg, Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, Carli Lloyd, and last but not least, Charlie Puth, who grew up in central NJ. “Importantly, 100% of every dollar you donate will go directly to those organizations that are helping our most vulnerable,” Puth said.
On its official Facebook page, the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund pledges to use the entirety of its donations to “fight the medical, social, and economic impact of COVID-19 on New Jersey’s most vulnerable, supporting organizations that provide essential services and aiding those on the front lines of the pandemic.” According to CNN, New Jersey has had more confirmed cases of COVID-19 than all other states except New York.
