Lizzo is back, and she’s brought Cardi B with her.
After announcing her new single “Rumors” earlier this month, Lizzo has revealed the surprise feature—Cardi B. She shared video of a FaceTime call where she dials up a mystery contact who’s listed in her phone as “‘RUMORS’ Feat…”
Cardi B answers the phone as Lizzo tells her, “Good morning, motherfu**er!”
“That’s who it’s featuring y’all, period,” says Lizzo before joking, “It’s Harry Styles!”
Cardi was not fully awake when she got the call. “What’s going on? Why you call me so early? It’s 9 o’clock in the morning,” she tells Lizzo.
“GRAND RISING MUTHAFUCKASSSSS…. GUESS WHOS HOPPIN ON ‘RUMORS’ W/ ME?!?” Lizzo captioned her IG post.
This marks the first collaboration between the Atlantic Records labelmates. However, Cardi tried to get Lizzo to make a cameo in her “WAP” music video, but she was out of town.
“I’m cool with Lizzo and everything. Like, we’ve been sending DMs to each other and all that. But she was on vacation and she wasn’t in town,” Cardi told Hot 97.
“Rumors” drops Friday (Aug. 13) and marks the first music from Lizzo since 2019’s Grammy-winning album Cuz I Love You.
“NEW ERA BITCH,” Lizzo wrote while announcing her new single.
