Lizzo Faces Backlash for Calling Chris Brown Her ‘Favorite Person’

Lizzo is under fire after she called Chris Brown her “favorite person in the world.”

While attending opening night of Omarion’s “Millennium Tour” on Friday, Lizzo met up with Breezy backstage at L.A.’s Forum and freaked out when she saw him. In a video clip that circulated online, the “Rumors” rapper asked Brown for a photo and he obliged.

“Can I get a picture with you ’cause you’re my favorite person in the whole fu**in’ world?” she told him.

When her friends tried to get in the photo, Lizzo jokingly told them to get out of the way because she wanted her own pic with Breezy.

While Lizzo was excited to meet Chris, some of her fans weren’t as thrilled given the singer’s problematic past including his 2009 assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna. She received backlash on social media after expressing her adoration for Chris, with some even calling for their cancelation.

“Yuck lizzo said Chris brown is their favorite person in the world??” wrote out outraged fan, while another added, “I love @lizzo but wtf is up with her calling Chris Brown her favorite person in the world… we’re not forgetting all the HORRIBLE THINGS hr continues to do over some hit singles are we…”

Others defended both Lizzo and Chris, pointing out that Rihanna collaborated with her ex even after the incident. “Why are y’all mad at lizzo when Rihanna has dropped a whole collab with Chris Brown since the incident? mind yours thank u,” tweeted one fan.

“Cancel culture is annoying at times. Let Lizzo love Chris Brown and mind your damn business,” added another.

Neither Lizzo or Chris has addressed the backlash.
