Fresh off the release of his new album It’s Almost Dry, Pusha T stopped by “The Breakfast Club†where he was once again asked about his infamous feud with Drake amid the Toronto rapper’s reunion with Kanye West.
The rap titans squashed their beef and reunited on stage during a benefit concert for Larry Hoover in L.A. in December, but Pusha is not interested in making peace with his rival.
“I think that was really good for them,†Pusha said. “There’s something weird with them two, the coexisting of both of them together, it’s something that they just have to have. Me personally, I don’t really stand anything to gain from squashing anything. I’m not entertaining it, but there’s nothing I want from the situation. I don’t want to do a record, I don’t want to do none of that.â€
Earlier this month, Drake’s collaboration with Jack Harlow leaked on which the 6 God appeared to reignite his beef with Pusha.
“All I hear is plug talk comin’ from middlemen / All I hear is tall tales comin’ from little men,†Drake raps on the track, reportedly titled “Have a Turn.†“When I say bitch, I’m very rarely referring to women / Most of the bitches I know are ni**as / They not even women.â€
Pusha acknowledged that he heard the leaked song, but he’s not concerned. “It sounds old to me, the flow sounds old,†he said. “Even what is considered the shots, it’s like, bro, after what I’ve done, like the middle man talk and all that type of talk, that’s not scathing for me. I’m here to like burn down everything.â€
Angela Yee noted that Drake appeared to be taking subliminal shots, but Pusha said he doesn’t do subliminals. “I’m not subliminal with nobody today, like, I’m not doing that. From the sound of it, it just sounded old to me. It’s not like fresh.â€
When asked if he keeps “something in the chamber just in case,†Pusha said he’s ready for war at any time. “As a lyricist, I got a file of just fire for whatever. That’s for everything, that’s for the world. There’s a file cabinet full of death.â€
Drake has not addressed the leaked Jack Harlow verse, but Pusha previously said that he had moved on from their feud. “I’ve already looked past that,†he told Complex in February. “I don’t look towards that anymore. … Bygones are bygones, as far as I see.â€
It’s Almost Dry dropped Friday featuring appearances from Lil Uzi Vert, Kid Cudi, Don Toliver, and more. On the eve of his album release, Pusha performed the Ye-assisted “Dreamin of the Past†on “The Tonight Show†with help from The Roots.
