While Kendrick was out getting his hands full of Grammy Awards, Drake was steady planning his re-entry into the noise. Wasting no time, Drake jumped into the rollout for his upcoming project on February 14 with PARTYNEXTDOOR and kickstarted his tour in Australia.
On day one of the Anita Max Win Tour, Drake walked out to an ecstatic crowd while sporting a hoodie riddled with bullet-holes and smoke coming out the back.
Drake also made a statement about his origin and longevity. He said, “My name is Drake, I started in 2008, I came all the way from Toronto, Canada. The year is now 2025, and no matter what, Drizzy Drake is very much still alive and that’s all thanks to you.” However, the bullet holes-smoke gimmick has fans divided into polarised groups (as it happens with Drake) — with some deeming it corny, while others see it as Drake’s invincibility.

The other thing that really caught the ears of fans is Drake’s snubbing of LeBron James, a long time friend and fan who clearly sided with Kendrick on the beef. LeBron was often seen singing along to the Kendrick disses on Drake, with the clips being posted publicly. In fact, Drake had even ‘liked’ one of those reels as he unfollowed James, and perhaps this is the moment he was planning then.

Switching his song lyrics on ‘Nonstop,’ Drake went from saying “How I go from 6 to 23 like I’m LeBron?” in the original version to the modified “How I go from 6 to 23 but not LeBron”, which, while a small change, insinuates how LeBron’s legacy could never match that of Michael Jordan, who famously sported the number 23.

Now, what will be the reaction to this? Will we see a LeBron reel shading Drake, or will Drake catch another stray on an upcoming Kendrick record like he did on GNX? Let’s wait to find out! In the meantime, here’s a high quality grab of the concert a fan recorded for your viewing.
