In a delightful turn of events, two meerkats named after rap icons Cardi B and Biggie have welcomed their fifth litter of pups at Scotland’s Blair Drummond Safari and Adventure Park. The new arrivals, born on May 5, mark a significant milestone for the pair, who have been a staple of the park since their arrival in 2022.

According to park officials, the newborns spent their initial weeks hidden underground, as meerkat pups are born blind, deaf, and hairless. In the wild, meerkats rely on their close-knit social structures—known as mobs—to ensure the survival of the young. The older siblings in this particular group have been instrumental in protecting and nurturing the five new additions. The pups made their public debut on May 29, 2026, much to the delight of visitors.
“The pups are starting to find their feet and already you can see their little personalities emerging,” said Carolyn Booth, a Pets Farm Team Leader at the zoo. “It’s a brilliant stage to watch and the whole mob has really stepped up to help raise them. It’s a proper family effort, and the group dynamic is fascinating to see at this size.”
This latest litter brings the total number of offspring for the pair to 19. The prolific couple previously welcomed four pups on September 28, 2025. As the new arrivals continue to grow, they will soon transition from their initial diet to solid foods, further integrating into the mob’s daily life.
