On Monday, August 24, the first day of the trial, a group of prominent figures gathered outside the federal courthouse in Los Angeles. Among those present were G Herbo, Dreezy, and OTF affiliate Doodie Lo. The group, joined by fans, wore “Free Durk” apparel and posed for a collective photograph to signal their unwavering support. “We’re just here to support Smurk. Free the Voice until he’s free,” G Herbo stated during the gathering.
Inside the courtroom, the presence of high-profile supporters continued. Machine Gun Kelly was spotted in an overflow room observing the proceedings. Addressing public curiosity regarding his attendance, the artist took to X to clarify his position: “This been my bro for a decade when he called and asked if id pull up and support[,] im there no question.” He concluded his message with a call to “Free durk.”
The support has extended well beyond the California courthouse. In Atlanta, Ralo utilized social media to express his optimism, writing on Instagram, “Lil Durk winning this trial… Let’s manifest this sh*t.”
The trial saw a significant moment on Thursday, August 27, when Ye made a surprise appearance at the federal building. Dressed in all black, the influential producer and rapper entered the courtroom to sit alongside Durk’s family during the testimony of OTF Jam. He was later seen with Doodie Lo, further emphasizing the industry’s collective backing. Other notable figures, including Meek Mill and Swizz Beatz, have also utilized their platforms to echo the “Free Durk” sentiment as the legal battle continues.
