In a move that further highlights his complicated relationship with The Recording Academy, Drake has reportedly declined to submit any of his music for 2027 Grammy consideration. The Toronto-born superstar, often referred to as the 6 God, appears to be maintaining his silent boycott of the prestigious award show, signaling that he will not be vying for any accolades during the upcoming cycle.
According to sources cited by Billboard, the decision encompasses his recent musical output, including the trio of albums released this past May: Iceman, Habibti, and Maid of Honour. While representatives for the artist have been contacted for comment, the industry remains unsurprised by the development, given the rapper’s history of vocal criticism regarding the Grammys dating back to 2017.
The artist’s engagement with the awards has been inconsistent over the years. His last formal submission occurred in 2024, which included his collaborative project with 21 Savage, Her Loss. His most recent win at the ceremony came in 2023, when he secured the award for Best Melodic Rap Performance for his contribution to Future‘s track “Wait for U,” which also featured Tems.
As the music industry looks toward the 2027 Grammy Award nominations, which are scheduled to be announced on November 16, with the ceremony following on February 7, 2027, it is clear that the rapper is focusing his energy elsewhere. He has already confirmed plans for a massive tour in 2027 to support his latest studio projects. “Obviously, a tour is coming, and there is other things on the horizon,” he noted in a recent interview. “Some big shows. We’ll be out in 2027 to see everybody again across the world.”
Beyond his touring commitments, speculation continues to swirl regarding his potential involvement in major festival circuits, with rumors suggesting he may be slated to headline the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in 2027.
