Boxing legend Mike Tyson has publicly confirmed his involvement in a correspondence between the incarcerated music mogul Diddy and President Donald Trump. The revelation came during a candid interview on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live, where Tyson discussed his ongoing connection to the disgraced industry figure.
During the conversation, Tyson addressed his relationship with Sean Combs, acknowledging that he remains “friendly with Puff.” When pressed by host Andy Cohen about the legal turmoil surrounding the mogul, Tyson expressed surprise at the aggressive nature of the prosecution. He specifically pointed to the government’s utilization of the 110-year-old Mann Act to secure a conviction, questioning the historical reach of the legal strategy employed against him.
A Request from Behind Bars
The former heavyweight champion revealed that he has maintained contact with Diddy during his time at FCI Fort Dix. According to Tyson, the communication included a specific directive from the mogul: “He wanted me to give a letter to the president.” While Tyson did not disclose the specific contents of the correspondence, he confirmed that he followed through on the request, stating, “I did what he told me to do, yeah.”
Observers have speculated that the letter was an attempt to solicit a presidential pardon. This aligns with reports from earlier this year, in which President Trump acknowledged receiving a letter from Diddy requesting clemency—a request the President indicated he would not grant.
The Ongoing Legal Saga
Diddy is currently serving a 50-month prison sentence following his conviction on sex-crime charges. His time in federal custody has been marked by controversy, including reports of his return to solitary confinement following allegations of unauthorized cell phone use and the procurement of prohibited luxuries. Furthermore, his anticipated release date has been adjusted to March 2, 2028.
As the legal and public fallout continues, Tyson’s admission provides a rare glimpse into the lines of communication still open to the mogul from within the prison system.
