A Timeline of Nicki Minaj & Meek Mill’s Post-Breakup Feud

Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill ended their two-year relationship back in 2016, but the exes have been anything but friendly ever since.

Their ongoing feud spilled into the social media realm on Wednesday (Feb. 5), when the duo exchanged blows on Twitter, with Nicki accusing Meek of beating women and Meek accusing Nicki of defending her brother amid child rape accusations.

In case the messy escalation three years after their split confused you, we at Billboard have compiled a timeline of the rappers' post-breakup beef.

See it below.

December 2016 – The break-up

Minaj started feuling breakup rumors in 2016 with two cryptic Instagram posts, one of her new Chanel slides with the caption citing Beyonce's moving on ballad, "Best Thing I Never Had" and one with the quote "Your value doesn't decrease based on someone's inability to see your worth." Meek added fuel to the flame by sharing a since-deleted NSFW photo of an anonymous woman's lingerie clad derriere.

Minaj put the rumors to rest in January 2017 by confirming that she is single on Twitter. "Focusing on my work & looking forward to sharing it with you guys really soon," she added.

February 2017 – Remy Ma's diss track

Remy's scathing Nicki diss track titled "ShETHER" was a response to Minaj's verse on Gucci Mane's "Make Love." She referenced the couple's former relationship with the lyrics:

"And I saw Meek at All-Star; he told me your ass drop/He couldn’t f–k you for three months because your ass dropped/Now I don’t think you understand how bad her a– got/The implants that you had put in her ass popped!/I was like, 'Damn, 90 days and you couldn’t have box?/Did she at least compensate, start giving you mad top?/Her name Minaj, right? She ain’t throw you some mad thots?'/He said 'Nah,' that’s when I knew you was really a trash bop," Rem rapped.

The Philadelphia rapper then allegedly "liked" a video game meme depicting his ex-girlfriend getting beaten up by Remy, which caused quite the stir on social media

July 2017 – Wins & Losses

When Meek teased that his Wins & Losses album would “address everything,” that included his relationship with Nicki Minaj.

He calls her out in the third verse of "1942 Flows," rapping: “Bloggers in the frenzy, truck to the Bentley/ Ain’t doing no interviews,” he raps. “I’m busy, n—a, we litty/ So when you see me out don’t ask me about no Nicki/ F— I look like telling my business on Wendy.” Earlier, he described a relationship gone sour: “N—as taking shots, can’t stop me they ain’t real enough/ Cut her off, act like she’s dead and it’s killing her.”

August 2018 – "Barbie Dreams"

Minaj had her turn to throw some musical blows on her single "Barbie Dreams," which shouted out a number of her fellow musicians by name (including Meek). "Meek still be in my DMs, I be havin to duck em/ I used to pray for times like this..face ass when I fuck em," she rapped.

"I definitely wasn't in nobody's DMs," Meek later told Vulture. "And definitely wasn’t nobody ducking me, shit. That’s a fact…I actually was laughing at it, too. 'Cause there’s no limits! I felt it and I liked it. That’s a dope rap."

December 2018: Meek signs off on Kenneth Petty

When Minaj confirmed her new relationship Instagram, fans were dying to know what Meek thought. During an #AskMeek Twitter session the rapper hosted while on a long drive, he gave a candid response when asked about Minaj's "new dude" Kenneth Petty.

"I don’t feel nothing … and I don’t know that man to judge him … I went to check him out on her page and found out I was blocked," he wrote.

February 2019: Minaj's fiery "Going Bad" freestyle

Minaj took aim at Drake and Meek when she dropped two freestyles on her Queen Radio show. "Barbie Goin Bad" had her rhyming over Meek's beef-squashing collab with Drake, "Going Bad."

She rapped about Meek's legal drama and how she supported him: "I was in the court, no Jays and Beys/Made her change her mind in the judge chamber, sleeze."

January 2020 – Shouting match at retail store

After a pretty quiet 2019 between the former couple, the duo and Minaj's husband Petty got into a shouting match at a West Hollywood retail store. In a video captured by TMZ, the three exchange expletive-filled blows.

February 2020 – The Twitter feud

The beef came to an ugly head with a public Twittter showdown, with Nicki accusing Meek of abuse and Meek accusing Nicki of defending her brother's child rape accusations.

"You beat your own sister and taped it," Minaj tweeted. "Spit on her & taped it. Kicked me in front your mother and sent her to the hospital. Sucking Drake d–k made u feel tough again. Move on. N—a been tweeting bout my man for a year now. Talking bout he went to my page to see him but he was blocked. My n—a, move on. I know ya btch embarrassed. Shitted yaself in that store when u got pressed tho."

"The only way you can try to kill my career is to say I beat women," Meek responded. "Talk about ya brother convicted of rape and you been knew and paid for his lawyer … ya little brother touched that lil girl too! You know I know … you want me to crash with ya boyfriend and I won’t."
