Alec Benjamin Is Exorcising His ‘Demons’ on New Single, But They’re Still Hiding Underneath

Alec Benjamin lets his vulnerable vocals reign in latest single "Demons," which came out Thursday (Jan. 16). But the demons remain trapped within him, as he softly confesses his inner turmoil and commends his significant other for being the only person who keeps him sane and staying afloat.

"I've got all these demons hiding underneath/ Nobody can see them, nobody but me, and you're the reason/ The only thing that keeps me from diving off the deep end/ Because I've got all these demons, demons, demons, mhm," he whispers in the chorus.

The soothing pop track mimics the technique of a lullaby but employs the words straight out of a nightmare, as Benjamin gives his listeners a raw insight into his biggest battles and thanks his loved ones who help him overcome them.

"Demons" comes off his highly anticipated debut album, which is due this spring. In April, Benjamin will hit the Empire Polo Club in Indio, Calif. for his first-ever Coachella performance.
