The outing is in support of her "More Myself: A Journey" memoir.
Alicia Keys is taking her book tour on the road. The acclaimed Grammy-winning singer is slated to hit stages in four cities in the spring in support of her New York Times bestselling book More Myself: A Journey, which is slated to publish on March 31. The More Myself Tour will feature a mix of storytelling and and music from the book, told from behind a piano, according to a statement announcing the four-date outing.
Among the announced cities on the roster are Brooklyn (March 31), as well as Atlanta (April 5), Chicago (April 6) and Los Angeles (April 7). Tickets for the tour — which also include a copy of the book — are on sale now here.
“As one of the most celebrated musicians in the world, Alicia Keys has captured audiences with her heartfelt lyrics, extraordinary vocal range, and soul-stirring piano compositions. Away from the spotlight, she privately grappled with heartache, her challenging and complex relationship with her father, her people-pleasing nature that characterized her early life and career, the loss of privacy, and the oppressive expectations of female perfection, some of which she put on herself,” reads a statement about the book. “More Myself is Alicia’s journey from childhood to now: at once a riveting account and a clarion call to readers to define themselves in a world that rarely encourages a true and unique identity.”
Keys is coming off a moving performance at the Feb. 24 public memorial for late Los Angeles Lakers icon Kobe Bryant, where she brought the house down with a moving rendition of Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata.”
