It's out with the old and in with the new in more ways than one for All Time Low, who released their new single "Some Kind of Disaster" on Tuesday (Jan. 21).
In the video for the introspective track — the group's first release since June 2018 — ATL attend group therapy, where they face all of the problematic attributes they divulge in the song's chorus: liar, cynic, sinner, loser, critic. But by the end of the four-minute clip, the therapy exercises help the guys feel resolved and able to begin again — just as the song did for the group in real life.
"Some Kind of Disaster" begins the next era for All Time Low, who declared in an Instagram post that the Young Renegades they introduced on their previous album, 2017's Last Young Renegade, "are no more." "Reintroducing your favorite disaster, All Time Low," they wrote. "We took a step away for a minute- did some growing, did some soul searching, some healing… Now we're back and ready to be all yours again, our battle scars worn proudly, and our hair looking better than ever. (it's best if you just agree). We've missed you all so much and we're so excited for what comes next."
What comes next for All Time Low so far is a set of live shows, as the band announced three intimate East Coast concerts shortly after "Some Kind of Disaster" arrived. They'll be stopping by Boston's Brighton Music Hall on Jan. 28, New York City's Bowery Ballroom on Jan. 30, and Ottobar in the group's native Baltimore on Jan. 31. The best part? Each of the shows are just $5.
