André 3000 is taking his message to the people. The OutKast legend has announced that he’s transforming his iconic, thought-provoking jumpsuits into a fundraiser for the Movement for Black Lives.
“Something very important is happening all over the world and it is happening to all of us. How does it make you feel?” the reclusive MC wrote on Instagram.
The long-sleeved black shirts, one of which features the word “breathe.” in white letters on a black background, will be on sale for the next three days with 100% of the net proceeds going to M4BL to, “aid in their fight to end police brutality & racial injustice against Black people. This is only one piece in the war against systemic racism. It takes all of us. BLACK LIVES MATTER … at a minimum,” wrote André.
Among the messages on the shirts are: “The Hardest Time of Our Lives,” “Which Type of Stereo Are You?,” “Passionate About Compassion,” “OK, Hand Over the Cure and Stop Playing,” “Obviously Obvious,” “Narcissistic Americans,” “I Pray There’s a God at the End of All This,” “Hiders of Pain,” “Have You Stopped Growing?,” “Distractions From Sadness,” “Can One Rest in Peace & Violence?” and “Across Cultures, Darker People Suffer Most, Why?”
Dré wore the jumpsuits with the messages during the group’s 2014 reunion tour, and the shirts will feature the “Not 4 Sale” tag image on the left sleeve.
