Andrea Bocelli's 'Fall On Me' Performance On 'Corden'

Andrea Bocelli and his son Matteo Bocelli called in to The Late Late Show Starring James Corden on Monday (April 20) to talk about the opera singer’s charitable foundation and perform their duet “Fall On Me.”

After speaking about the humanitarian work the Andrea Bocelli Foundation is doing to support hospitals during the coronavirus pandemic in the star’s native Italy, the father and son duo kicked off their 2018 single with the younger Bocelli at the piano.

“Fly like a cannonball/ Straight to my soul/ Tear me to pieces and make me feel whole/ I’m willing to fight for it and carry this weight/ But with every step/ I keep questioning what is true,” Matteo sings as his father delivers a gorgeous descant over the top of the melody.

Written by A Great Big World, the ballad is featured as the lead single on the elder Bocelli’s 2018 album . (While the Bocellis’ duet peaked at No. 97 on the Canadian Hot 100, the pop duo later recorded their own version of the song with Christina Aguilera in Nov. 2019.) Most recently, the famed Italian vocalist closed out the One World: Together At Home special by performing “The Prayer” with Céline Dion, Lady Gaga and Lang Lang.
