Andrew McMahon is bringing his drive-in concert to the East Coast this month with two shows at Monmouth Park in New Jersey.
McMahon, who also fronted the bands Jack’s Mannequin and Something Corporate, will perform on Aug. 24 and 25 following three sold out drive-in shows at the City National Grove of Anaheim in Southern California last month.
The shows will continue the 15th anniversary of the Jack’s Mannequin album Everything in Transit, which he will play from start to finish plus other popular songs from In the Wilderness and Something Corporate.
McMahon kicked off the anniversary celebration by playing the three sold-out drive-in concerts presented by Nederlander Concerts. A live stream was made available for Saturday night’s concert in Anaheim and was reportedly watched by over 4,000 fans. Fans can still watch the performance on-demand with a portion of the proceeds of all streams going to McMahon’s Dear Jack Foundation. The concerts have already raised over $20,000 on behalf of the foundation.
Nederlander Concerts and The Basie Presents Drive-In Live Starring Andrew McMahon will go on sale Friday with a maximum of four occupants per vehicle. Events benefit the nonprofit Count Basie Center for the Arts.
The event will follow state guidance on social distancing, public gatherings and certain procedures.
