Iglesias extends his No. 1 record with 31 leaders.
Anuel AA’s “Fútbol & Rumba” arrives atop the Latin Airplay chart with a 4-1 hike on the Aug. 8-dated survey. The song, which features Enrique Iglesias and was produced by Ovy On The Drums, pushes to the top of the chart in its ninth week.
“Fútbol & Rumba” earns Anuel AA his 11th No. 1 while Iglesias collects a record-extending 31st leader, the most for any artist since the chart began in 1994.
“I’m so thankful to my fans and radio for all the continuous support,” Iglesias tells Billboard. “31 No. 1s and hopefully more to come! Thanks to Anuel and everyone involved with this song!”
Iglesias’ collection of Latin Airplay No. 1s date back to 1995, when “Si Tú Te Vas” reigned for eight weeks starting on the Dec. 2, 1995-dated tally.
“Fútbol & Rumba” ascends from No. 4 on Latin Airplay as it gains 13% in audience impressions (to 12 million) in the week ending Aug. 2, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.
That rise aids the track’s 19-14 climb on Hot Latin Songs, which blends airplay, streaming data and digital sales. The song is down 3% in streams and 7% in sales.
“Fútbol & Rumba” was released May 29. It’s the third single off Emmanuel, Anuel’s second studio album which debuted at No. 1 on the Top Latin Albums chart (dated June 13; it remains in the runner-up slot in its seventh week) and at No. 8 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart.
The song follows on the heels of Anuel’s most recent Latin Airplay chart hit “KEII,” his one-week ruler (May 22-dated list) and only title without an accompanied act.
