Anuel talks new album 'Emmanuel,' Bad Bunny, Karol G

Anuel’s long awaited sophomore album, Emmanuel, drops tonight (May 28) at midnight. The set is a spectacular 22 tracks that includes memorable collaborations with Travis Barker, Lil’ Wayne, Bad Bunny, Enrique Iglesias, Karol G, Tego Calderón and Kendo Kaponi, among others.

A week before the album’s release, when he was still in the middle of mastering, Anuel had a heart-to-heart with Billboard and opened up about representing the street, collaborating with Juice WRLD, Lil Pump and Travis Barker, his bond with Bad Bunny, his time behind bars and of course, his ongoing relationship with Karol G and how she taught him how to “be a better person.”

Check out a few key takeaways below.

On why the album is called Emmanuel: It’s my name and it means “God with us.” I wanted the album to have that good vibe. It’s my life, made into music.

On what Karol G has taught him: She taught me to be a better person. She taught me to want to be a better person.

On Bad Bunny: We’re competitive and we may compete until the day we die. But obviously, if we didn’t get along, he wouldn’t have two tracks in my album.

On when he and Karol will marry: Watch!
