Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga might have been praising “Rain On Me” during Gaga’s Chromatica single and their Tuesday weather update, but come Thursday (May 28), a torrential downpour completely soaked them.
During the one-minute weather update, Grande reported live from her bathtub in Los Angeles, Calif. “where it never rains,” she said, and Gaga co-anchored from her pool in New York “where it rains more often.” The pop stars could barely make out their lyrics-turned-meteorologist scripts with water pouring down their faces. “Livin’ in a world where no one’s innocent/ But at least we tried,” Grande sternly informed before cursing and breaking out into laughter.
But at least their signature white eyeliner stayed on throughout the entire segment they hosted in partnership with The Weather Channel.
“I’d rather be dry, but at least I’m still alive. Rain on me,” Gaga reported gratefully before thunder rumbled in the background and she screamed after losing her hot pink wig in the water.
“i’ll do anything to earn my umbrella back @ladygaga pls,” the “Stuck With You” singer wailed on Twitter when she shared today’s weather forecast. But to her chagrin, her fellow co-anchor pointed out on the platform, “I’m pretty sure it’s flooding already @arianagrande.”
These forecasts might pale in comparison to the praise Gaga will be showered with after she delivers her sixth studio album Chromatica tomorrow (May 29) to the Little Monsters. But that’s not all Mother Monster plans to deliver in the name of Chromatica: She teamed up with Postmates to donate up to $100,000 to World Central Kitchen, an organization that has been feeding those hit hardest by the COVID-19 pandemic, by matching $1 from every order made from tomorrow until Sunday, May 31. Furthermore, Postmates customers who use the code CHROMATICA will receive free delivery on their orders over the weekend.
