Just a week after dropping his latest single, “Aliveâ€, beloved British musician Bakar is back with more good news: a forthcoming LP. Bakar announced that Halo, the “sonic counterpart†to his critically acclaimed 2018 mixtape BADKID, is set for release via Black Butter on September 1.
Bakar took to Instagram yesterday to formally announce the album’s upcoming release date. “Pre order it rn!†he wrote.
Bakar last delivered an LP back in 2022, with Nobody’s Home. Halo will reportedly hone in on similar themes of youthful exploration and Bakar’s nomadic lifestyle as a young artist. He’s set to hit some festivals this summer, making stops at Chicago’s Lollapalooza as well as Reading & Leeds.
Outside of music, the artist has been dabbling more in the fashion space. After starring in a 2019 Louis Vuitton campaign alongside Yung Lean, Dominic Fike and Clairo, then appearing in Tiffany & Co.’s I COLLECT, THEREFORE I AM series, Bakar began his foray into the industry as a collaborator. Last year, he designed his own collection with Stüssy and Bone Soda, and more recently, he collaborated with Givenchy’s Matthew Williams on the label’s Paris Fashion Week show soundtrack, which included the debut of his single “Good News,†in March.
