Every bar rising artist Big Havi spits is from the heart and filled with pain. Whether it’s personal trauma from his past or pain carried from a lifetime in a broken system, the 20-year-old East Atlanta native uses music as an outlet to get things off his chest. A month removed from his latest project, No Pen No Pad Just Pain, Havi is back with a visual for the title track of his debut EP, Personal Problems.
This video, directed by frequent collaborator Qasquiat (Lil Uzi, Roddy Ricch), marks the first collaboration with his Commission Records label-mate, Derez De’Shon, who Havi has built quite the friendship with. “Before all this shit I never had any “rap friends” as they call it,” he told me, “so it’s been dope to have someone like him to lean on.” The visual flips from scenes captured in his hotel room, to clips of him hitting ATL’s Centennial Park to join the recent #BlackLivesMatter protests, proudly rocking his Braves cap. While the song may focus on Havi’s “personal problems,” the video is able to highlight the issues plaguing our nation.
