Billboard Latin Music Awards 2020: The Tropical Album of the Year Finalists

The 2020 Billboard Latin Music Awards finalists were officially announced earlier this month, and leading this year’s list are Bad Bunny and Ozuna with 14 nods each, followed by J Balvin and Daddy Yankee with 12 and trap singer Anuel AA with 11.

On the other hand, in the tropical album category, four veterans in music compete to take home the prize. Take a closer look below.

Utopia, Romeo Santos
Romeo Santos scored his fifth consecutive No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart (dated Apr. 20, 2019) with Utopia, his fourth studio album.

Memorias de Navidad, Victor Manuelle
The set, which includes 12 tracks, leaves Victor Manuelle’s typical salsa behind and enters to the sounds of bomba y plena, the traditional holiday music of la isla del encanto, and the cuatro (an instrument that is similar to an acoustic guitar) to describe how the Christmas traditions in Puerto Rico are celebrated.

Opus, Marc Anthony
The 10-track salsa album, released Sony Music Latin, is Marc Anthony’s 11th top 10 on the Top Latin Albums chart (dated May 25). It also debuted at No. 1 on the Tropical Albums chart.

40 Y Contando, Gilberto Santa Rosa
The live album, filmed and recorded in Puerto Rico, is a special that gathers Santa Rosa’s biggest hits, featuring special guests such as Victor Manuelle, Luis Enrique, Tito Nieves and Eddie Santiago, among others.
