Billie Eilish and Finneas will take to the virtual stage to perform for Verizon’s Pay It Forward Live series tonight (April 22).
Verizon launched Pay It Forward Live, a weekly series of intimate at-home performances with an element of social good, on March 26. Dave Matthews, Alicia Keys and Luke Bryan have all performed.
Throughout each live set, the artist spotlights a small business affected by the ongoing pandemic, with the goal of raising awareness — and funds — to help keep it going. Viewers are encouraged to offer support through ordering items/meals online, buying a gift card for future in-person use or simply donating. On Verizon’s end, the company will donate $10 (up to $2.5 million) each time the hashtag #PayitForwardLIVE is used on social media.
“Small businesses are a crucial part of our community, and it is so important that we support them during this crisis,” Eilish said in a release. “I am honored to be able to call attention to these local businesses, who have made an impact on my life, and are trying to make the world a better place”
Plus, in honor of the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, the superstar siblings will shine a light on Support + Feed, an organization launched by their mother, Maggie Baird, that supports local restaurants — and now, is also helping feed essential workers on the front lines. Participating Support + Feed plant-based restaurants in New York and Los Angeles are helping to facilitate CDC regulated, coordinated food deliveries to vetted organizations, hospitals, first responders, senior centers, homeless shelters, and women’s centers.
Tonight’s performance will take place at 8:00 p.m. EST / 5:00 p.m. PST and will stream live on Twitter @Verizon, Yahoo, Verizon’s Facebook and YouTube pages, Fios Channel 501, AXS TV, FOX NOW. Fans can also tune in to iHeart and SiriusXM.
