During ACM Presents: Our Country on Sunday night (April 5), power couple Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani got in on the fun with an at-home performance recorded in Oklahoma. “We’re happy to be here], hiding away from everybody doing what we’re supposed to do: drinking all day,” said Shelton, to which Stefani replied with a laugh, “Not me!”
Shelton said he and Stefani originally planned to perform together at the ACM Awards, scheduled for Sunday night and now taking place in September due to the coronavirus. The pair chose their love song, “Nobody but You,” which they performed earlier this year at the 2020 Grammys and is from Shelton’s 2019 album Fully Loaded: God’s Country.
The two sang outside during dusk, as a cozy looking fire pit burned behind them. Gwen’s brother, Todd, recorded the performance for them. Before he pressed “stop,” Shelton signed off by telling viewers to “say stafe,”as Stefani rested her head on his shoulder laughing at the classic-though-unintentional spoof; he did joke about drinking, after all.
