Los Angeles rapper Blueface is currently facing a significant legal challenge after a promoter filed a copyright-infringement lawsuit alleging that the artist live-streamed Chrisean Rock‘s pay-per-view boxing match without authorization. The legal action, initiated by boxing promoter Skyy Myles, centers on the September 19 event titled “The Supper,” which featured Chrisean Rock in her professional boxing debut against opponent Ku’Shiyah Williams.
According to court documents obtained by XXL, the lawsuit claims that Blueface deliberately broadcast the fight for over an hour on his official Kick account. The event, which was made available to the public by BLK Prime Boxing for a $29.99 fee, saw Chrisean Rock emerge victorious via a second-round technical knockout. The suit alleges that the rapper encouraged his massive fanbase to tune into his unauthorized stream rather than purchasing the official broadcast, purportedly as a retaliatory measure regarding an unrelated financial dispute with the event’s headliner.
“In my entire career, I have never seen such a blatant and brazen disregard for copyright,” stated Charles Lew, an attorney representing Skyy Myles. “They didn’t just take our clients’ broadcast, they announced it live and told people not to pay. We look forward to the successful enforcement of our clients’ well-established rights.”
In addition to Blueface, the lawsuit names the rapper’s manager, Cash Jones (professionally known as Wack 100), and the streaming platform Kick.com as defendants. The plaintiffs are seeking a jury trial to recover damages related to lost pay-per-view revenue, as well as any profits generated by Blueface through his unauthorized stream and reimbursement for legal fees incurred during the litigation process.
As of this report, representatives for the defendants have not provided a public statement regarding the allegations. XXL has reached out to attorney Charles Lew for further comment on the ongoing legal proceedings.
