boohooMAN Cuts Ties with DaBaby Following Controversial Comments

The fallout from DaBaby’s controversial comments continues.

In the wake of his homophobic rant at Rolling Loud, fashion retailer boohooMAN has severed ties with the rapper.

“boohooMAN condemn the use of homophobic language and confirm we will no longer be working with DaBaby,” the company said in a statement on Twitter. “Diversity and inclusion are part of the boohoo Groups DNA and we pride ourselves on representing the diverse customers we serve across the globe.”

The statement continued, “We stand up and support the LGBTQ+ community, and we do not tolerate hate speech or discrimination in any form.”

In June, boohooMAN teamed up with DaBaby to launch a summer capsule. The 100-piece limited edition collection, which featured track sets, jackets, sweaters, and basketball shorts, has since been removed from the retailer’s website.

DaBaby continues to face backlash on social media, while his “Levitating” collaborator Dua Lipa and Sir Elton John have condemned his offensive language. “We’ve been shocked to read about the HIV misinformation and homophobic statements made at a recent DaBaby show,” said John. “This fuels stigma and discrimination and is the opposite of what our world needs to fight the AIDS epidemic.⁣”

Tory Lanez, who joined DaBaby on stage at Rolling Loud Miami over the weekend, is seemingly siding with his “SKAT” collaborator after social media called for his cancelation.

DaBaby has since apologized for “insensitive” remarks about HIV/AIDS, while claiming that his comments were “digested wrong.”
