It also becomes the band’s first Rock Digital Song Sales No. 1.
Bring Me the Horizon becomes the third act to score a No. 1 on Billboard‘s newly created, multi-metric Hot Hard Rock Songs chart, as “Parasite Eve” blasts 19-1 on the list dated July 11.
The song reigns following its first full week of tracking after its June 25 release. In the frame ending July 2, it earned 2.5 million U.S. streams and sold 5,000 downloads, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, and in the radio tracking week ending July 5, it drew 207,000 airplay audience impressions.
“Parasite Eve” concurrently debuts at No. 10 on Hot Rock & Alternative Songs, the band’s second-best rank, following the No. 9 debut and peak of “Medicine” in January 2019. The new track also opens at No. 10 on Hot Alternative Songs, which was christened alongside Hot Hard Rock Songs with the charts dated June 13. (All three charts blend streaming, sales and airplay data.)
The song vaults 10-1 on the Hard Rock Digital Song Sales list and 23-1 on Rock Digital Song Sales. It’s the band’s third No. 1 on the former tally (and first since “Happy Song” in August 2015) and first on the latter.
On Hard Rock Streaming Songs, which also began as of the June 13 chart, “Parasite Eve” is the group’s first entry, starting at No. 18.
The song additionally debuts at No. 39 on the Mainstream Rock Songs airplay chart, where it’s Bring Me the Horizon’s 11th entry. The band has scored four top 10s on the radio ranking, including the two-week No. 1 “Throne” in 2015.
“Parasite Eve,” which shares its name with a Japanese sci-fi novel published in 1995 (and later turned into a video game series, plus a film and manga), is the first single from the band’s four-EP series Post Human, set to be released over the next year.
