Sway Dasafo carved out a legendary path in the U.K. music scene. In 2005, he made history by becoming the first unsigned artist to win the Best Hip-Hop Act at the MOBO Awards, a monumental achievement that saw him surpass established international stars like 50 Cent and The Game. In a statement, the MOBO Awards reflected on his legacy, noting, “Sway will always hold a special place in MOBO history. Born in Hornsey, North London, to Ghanaian parents, Sway’s journey began within the rap collective Phynix Crew and One.
