The NHL announced Thursday (April 4) they will open the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs with a free concert by Grammy winners Cage The Elephant.
The concert will be held at Curtis Hixon Park in downtown Tampa, Florida, on Wednesday. The 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs Party is free admission and begins at 5:15 pm ET.
The band from Bowling Green, Ky., began playing together in high school and have gained critical acclaim over the years. Their next album, Social Cues, is due April 19.
On radio, Cage the Elephant holds the record for most No. 1s on Billboard’s Alternative Songs chart of any artist this decade. The band’s new single from its forthcoming album, “Ready to Let Go,” currently sits atop Alternative Songs.
Cage the Elephant recently announced The Night Running Tour, which will be co-headlined by Beck.
The 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs begin Wednesday.
