Carla Morrison is joining forces with Mexican online thrift store GoTrendier to raise money for music workers like engineers, technicians, managers, photographers and touring staff to help them financially during the global pandemic.
The initiative is called “Volveremos A Tocar,” which loosely translates to “we will play again,” consists of shopping through Morrison’s closet to purchase some of the Mexican singer-songwriter’s outfits and 100 percent of the purchase will go directly to workers who lost their income after all shows and tours were canceled due to COVID-19.
Morrison, who is quarantined in Paris, has also taken to social media to talk to her followers about mental health and spoke about some techniques that have worked for her to stay calm during the health crisis.
In a previous interview with Billboard, Morrison said, “I feel very sad at the moment, in quarantine really feeling down for the people being affected by it and myself,” Morrison said. “So, the only way I can handle this and my mental state is being at home listening to uplifting music that makes me instantly dance and forget all the troubles of the world right now for an hour at least!”
Also joining “Volveremos a Cantar” is pop singer-songwriter Paty Cantú who says that some of her “iconic looks” will be available for purchase.
