Today, recording artist Chanel West Coast announced the release of her debut album, America’s Sweetheart, that includes collaborations with Too$hort, Dreezy, Anaya Lovenote, Salma Slims and Porcelain Black and is available to buy and stream HERE.

As part of the release, Chanel is announcing plans to donate a portion of proceeds from streams of the album to the REFORM Alliance, the criminal justice reform organization co-founded by Meek Mill and Philadelphia 76ers partner Michael Rubin.
“I called this album ‘America’s Sweetheart’ because it’s an oxymoron and contradicts the perception that many have of me,” Chanel said. “I have flaws. I’ve made mistakes. I’ve benefitted from white privilege and I’ve had second chances in life that, unfortunately, many people have not received. That’s why it was important for me to donate to the REFORM Alliance and do my part to address the injustices taking place in our world, particularly our Black and brown communities.”
The album also shows an evolution for Chanel, who was previously signed to Lil Wayne’s Young Money label strictly as a rapper and even appeared on the imprint’s collaborative album, Young Money: Rise of An Empire, in 2014. After sporadically dropping singles and releasing two mixtapes over the years, Chanel is now taking the best of rap, R&B and pop to create a new sound for America’s Sweetheart.
The release of Chanel’s debut album is the culmination of years of hard work since she originally dropped her mixtape, Now You Know, in 2013 that included collaborations with Snoop Dogg, French Montana, Ty Dolla $ign and Robin Thicke, among others. Lil Wayne decided to take Chanel under his musical wing after she played a couple songs for him while in a studio in Miami.
Her rapping abilities enabled her to open for the likes of Tyga, Cardi B, Machine Gun Kelly, Rick Ross and Waka Flocka over the years and, in recent year, she has released a series of songs, such as “Been On (feat French Montana)” and “New Bae (feat. Safaree).”
Now, Chanel is continuing to carve her lane in the music industry as an independent artist with America’s Sweetheart available now!
