Charli XCX's 'Forever' Watch

As the world is continuing to adjust to the reality of life in quarantine, Charli XCX wants to remember a time when we weren’t stuck in our homes social distancing.

On Friday (April 17), Charli released the music video for her latest single “Forever,” a love-you-from-afar electronic ballad that sees the star promising her love to the listener, even when they’re apart. “I’ll love you forever / Even when we’re not together / I will always love you,” she sings.

The video for the track sees the pop star curating and compiling more than 5,000 phone camera clips sent in by her fans (know as the Angels) of life both before and after social isolation. The clip cuts between shots of Pride festivals, nightclubs, beach trips and more large gatherings, to the solitude of Charli and her fans’ homes, as they stay inside to stop the spread of COVID-19.

The song and video are just the first glimpses of Charli’s upcoming new album how i’m feeling now. Due May 15 Warner Records, the album has been written and produced in quarantine, with Charli and her producers A.G. Cook and BJ Burton working together the internet. Charli has also been letting fans in on the process, getting their thoughts on the songs and visuals as she writes and releases them.
