Thanks to the power of social media, Venezuelan artists Chyno Miranda (real name: Jesús Alberto Miranda Pérez) and Nacho (real name: Miguel Ignacio Mendoza Donatti) are reuniting as a duo for an upcoming musical project, Billboard can exclusively reveal.
The Latin Grammy-winning Chino & Nacho, behind pop-urban hits such as “Mi Niña Bonita” and “Me Voy Enamorando,” are set to make their highly-awaited comeback after a nearly four-year hiatus with the release of a new single and music video dubbed “Raro,” out Friday, March 13. Billboard can confirm that, as of now, Chino & Nacho only have plans of releasing this track together.
“It’s a pleasure to be back making music with Chyno after sharing so many years of our journey and our struggle,” Nacho says in an official statement. “We are going back to our roots and the musical essence that gave us the opportunity to be known outside of our country. To remember is to live again.”
Chino adds: “It’s been several years since we’ve performed together but the chemistry is intact, our essence remains strong and we’re ready to continue with our legacy. I’m very happy to reunite with the sound that shaped my life and with a dear partner like Nacho, with whom I’ve always enjoyed making music.”
Chino & Nacho parted ways to follow their individual solo careers in early 2017, following the release of their 2016 song “Andas En Mi Cabeza” in collaboration with Daddy Yankee. In 2019, both artists reunited to perform one song together at the Venezuela Aid Live concert in Cúcuta, Colombia.
The 2020 reunion comes on the heels of a social media movement created by fans asking for the duo to return. In recent Instagram posts, both Nacho and Chyno have hinted at their reunion, posting messages of admiration that they have for each other. “I’m truly enjoying the hashtag,” Nacho noted. “ It is enormously motivating for us and it is strengthening the relationship that Chyno and I have repaired in the past few weeks.”
