On the morning of her 35th birthday, Chiquis Rivera surprised her fans with a stunning photo in her “birthday suit”—unbothered, unfiltered and unapologetic.
But despite her fierce post, Rivera, who’s making the rounds with her latest album Playlist and her Becky G-assisted track “Jolene,” plans to celebrate her special day with a weekend getaway.
“I’m leaving on the day of my birthday and taking a few days off to clear my mind,” she tells Billboard. “I got a house by the beach, where I’m going to feel inspired by the water and just write a few songs. I’m a Cancer, so it’s a water sign. Every time I’m around water, it calms me.”
Rivera will be joined by her closest lady friends. “I’m going with a couple of girlfriends, you know, a lot of people are really going through it right now, so we’re just going to go live our life.”
In celebration of the big three-five, Chiquis shared an exclusive birthday playlist with Billboard, including her very own “Gracias Por Tu Participacion” because it gets her going every morning and “No Me Pregunten Por El” by her late mother Jenni Rivera. “This song is hitting my heart right now,” she admits.
