"I feel like I've been locked up tight for a century of lonely nights," she captioned an Instagram post.
Christina Aguilera quite literally feels like a genie in a bottle.
On Saturday (March 21), the 39-year-old pop star shared an Instagram post referencing lyrics from her 1999 hit song to lightheartedly describe how she’s feeling while being in self-quarantine amid the coronavirus pandemic.
“‘I feel like I’ve been locked up tight for a century of lonely nights…waiting for someone to release me,'” Aguilera captioned the post, which features a clip from the “Genie in a Bottle” music video.
“What day is it?! Haha,” the singer continued. “Thanks for making me laugh during this crazy time. Love you guys. Please stay home if you can and stay safe.”

One of Aguilera’s 6.7 million Instagram followers cleverly replied, “LOVE YOU QUEEN! We are all trying to stay safe and healthy during this QuaranTina!”
Like many of her peers, Xtina has been laying low and taking the advice of U.S. politicians who have ordered citizens to stay home in an attempt to slow the spread of coronavirus.
Aguilera has recently been busy working on music for the live-action remake of Disney’s Mulan. Twenty-two years after the release of “Reflection” from Disney’s 1998 Mulan soundtrack, the singer has returned to the franchise with a song for the upcoming film, titled “Loyal Brave True.”
The Mulan soundtrack will be released on March 25, with the remake — starring Liu Yifei as the titular character — set for release on March 27.
